This is the start of a new day, a new week and soon to be a new month!!!  Did you know that tonight is also a full moon?

It’s seriously the perfect time to shed the old beliefs, forgive who you need to forgive and celebrate your accomplishments. As this purpose of mine grows, and flourishes, I feel more and more alive especially when the moon is full.

And as I tell my story I feel more and more free. Its hard to believe that it was all ready four years ago, at this very moment, I felt like nothing in the world could stop me, that no one could ruin this moment and that I was going to be invincible forever. At 22 years old, I felt like I had set up the perfect life, the perfect future and scored the perfect man.

Little did I know that in just six months, my perfect world would come crumbling down on me. In fact, that all my worst fears would come true, and that I would dive deep into my very first anxiety/depression stage.

And as I wake up today, four years later, I understand why all this had to happen to me, and why I had to be strong enough to go through it. It’s hard to admit when you live defeat, and when you just want to give up on everything and live in your bedroom watching harry potter all day. It was something I wasn’t proud of, that I kept hidden and that I was accepting.

On the outside, I had all my shit together, I was the perfect girl, who was always smiling and helping others… it was all a show.  On the inside I was dying, and I didn’t know what to do, who to turn to and how to see light at the end of the tunnel.

I was praying for a miracle, because I knew I was meant to be so much more… I was meant to be a leader.

 

And the miracle came.

And today, I feel so empowered that I was able to grow enough to get rid of those overtaking thoughts, to stop taking my medication and to help empower other people to do the same.

Here are my 3 tips to waking up feeling refreshed.

1-      Every night before going to bed, thank the Universe for one thing that happened that day. Just one thing, now I’m sure you can think of something, even if it’s : I’m thankful I have eyes so I could see the sunset.  

2-      Start your day with: I’m going to have a good day today, and today’s going to be fun! Affirmations are powerful and seriously not overrated, it’s time to stop judging them and give it a try. If you don’t like the one I’ve provide, tweak it and make it your own! There is no wrong answer.  

3-      Set your alarm to the radio channel you love, and wake up to some empowering music. I’m dead serious when I say waking up to some loud beeping can seriously activate your fight or flight response, and that increases your anxiety. The association of a beeping alarm to “hating” morning has a correlation. Why not change that into something pleasant, fun and light… which will NOT increase your anxiety but will give you a more relaxing energy.

On this beautiful Full Moon Monday morning, it’s time to feel empowered to start the week strong, I know I do! It’s time to grow our visions or the world and to become the leader we were meant to be.  For all millennials reading this, we are meant to be different, we are meant to create this new way of living… we are meant to create the change! In order to do that, we have to be straight, anxiety is not suppose to be an epidemic, and yes there are ways of “healing” it. Society has conditioned us to believe that “pills” are the only way, and I am here to tell you that it’s not. We are worth so much more than those pills!!!

Believe me when I tell you, there is another way. But first, you have to believe that you can make it happen. Because I believe in you so much, and I understand what your going through… I went through it too.

I want you to think about how anxiety has affected your everyday life, and how it has changed you. And just for today, don’t be the victim to it, stand up to it and be happy!
